Celebrating The Beatles at the Indiana State Fair

To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of The Beatles playing their shows at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, we are excited to announce a full day of Fab Four themed entertainment on Saturday, August 3!

The Beatles performance at the Indiana State Fairgrounds took place on September 3, 1964, so this special celebration during the State Fair will tip-off a month-long celebration with additional details to be announced at 10am on August 3 at a special press event!

Hard Days Night (A tribute to the beatles)

A special matinee show on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage will feature Hard Days Night where they will perform the exact setlist from 1964 + additional hits from that era.

August 3rd at 2PM: Hoosier Lottery Free Stage

Live and let die: the music of paul mccartney

A special evening performance on the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage featuring the great Tony Kishman. Tony starred for six years in both the national and international tours of Broadway’s smash hit musical, ‘Beatlemania’ and also performs in the International Symphonic Beatles production, ‘Classical Mystery Tour’.

Select items from the early era of The Beatles will be on display including:

George Harrison’s 1964 Gibson SG Standard
John Lennon’s 1963 Gretsch Chet Atkins 6120
John Lennon’s 1964 Rickenbacker Rose Morris 1996 (later gifted to Ringo)

There will also be select images and items featured that were used by The Beatles during the group’s performances in Indianapolis in 1964 courtesy of the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

call for artists: commissioned artwork for the indiana state fair coliseum

The Indiana State Fair is seeking a talented artist to create a commissioned painting for the Coliseum. This special project will pay tribute to The Beatles’ only performance in Indiana, which took place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds 60 years ago on September 3rd, 1964. The artwork rendering/sketch will be unveiled at a press conference during the Indiana State Fair on Saturday August 3rd, 2024, and will be completed and installed on September 3rd, 2024, during out Tribute to the Beatles event.
